Romancing The Keyboard Guest Blogging Editorial Guidelines
Romancing The Keyboard is about the art & biz of writing—covering everything from dealing with writer’s block to improving one’s writing to events for writers. If you’d like to write an article for RTK, please look over the following guidelines and then email jmartin@jasonamartin.com with your article idea.
- All articles have a byline.
- Currently, we don’t pay for articles. Instead, we provide a byline and 1-3 links to your site, book(s), etc.
- We only accept solid writing.
- All submission will be reviewed and possibly sent back for editing—I want to ensure my readers get a good, factually-correct article.
- While not mandatory, I would like to have a picture of you for your author’s bio at the end of the article.
- All content must be original.
- I look for great article ideas. Check through RTK to ensure your exact idea isn’t already on the site.
- I don’t accept product/service reviews.
- The article must be written in a professional manner—no slamming others, foul language, etc.
- Minimum word count is 300 words—exception being an article about an upcoming event.
- There is no maximum word count.
- If it’s your first article with us, you can provide an author’s bio. The length is 2-3 sentences (see articles on RTK for an example).
- As you can see on RTK, each article has a main image on top. We buy our images from iStockPhoto.com and we’ll provide one for your article. You can recommend an image (or images) from there for your article.
- If you require other images in your article, you must supply those and they must look good (nothing grainy or pixelated accepted).
- Submit articles in DOC, TXT or RTF format.
Authors published on Romancing The Keyboard are not allowed to republish their articles elsewhere (blurbs are ok).
We recommend that you link to your article(s) on RTK and tell friends and I will also work to build visibility to your article(s).
Thank You,
Jason A. Martin
